The Hawks’ defence end had another successful day, creating turnovers all game and putting the pressure on across the whole court.

The circle defenders were dominant with rebounds, sealing the goalers out to give them no second chances at goals.

Allanah Jagoe used her ability to read the play to get plenty of intercepts, and really turned up the heat in the last quarter to keep the Hawks in the lead.

The midcourt carried the ball from defence into attack with great speed, allowing easy passages into the ring.

They found their footing in the second half of the game and used some speed to really compete.

Chloe Walsh picked off balls in goal defence and then took that defensive pressure into the long drive down the court.

Amber Hammond came up from the under 13s with a fiery work rate and was an easy option under the post, taking on the strong Bairnsdale defenders.
