Help Noojee strike gold with a quick and simple vote.

Noojee was recently announced as a finalist in a highly prized Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards category for the second consecutive year.

Decided by public vote, all residents are now asked to cast a vote for Noojee by Thursday, June 22 to help the town take out the top accolade.

Each year the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) hosts the Top Tourism Town Awards to showcase regional towns and destinations offering unique visitor experiences.

Taking home bronze last year, Noojee is aiming for gold in this year’s awards.

Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe said the nomination was a huge win for Noojee.

“Tourism driven economy plays a vital role in smaller, remote communities like Noojee,” Cr McCabe said. “This nomination serves as a timely reminder of the hard work, dedication and resilience displayed by the town’s business owners, community groups and residents, particularly during the last few years.”

“That’s exactly why we’re calling on the Baw Baw Shire community to get behind this beautiful part of our shire and cast their votes for Noojee as the top tiny tourism town,” she added.

Cr McCabe said this nomination followed a number of council initiatives to enhance the town’s infrastructure and support the local tourism economy, including a $4 million upgrade of the popular Rokeby to Neerim Trail to extend to Noojee.

Noojee’s nomination is within the top tiny tourism towns category for towns with a population below 1500 people, alongside Aireys Inlet, Jamieson, Red Hill South and Murchison.
