Snowfest returns with double the activities

-

Snowfest Gippsland will return for its fifth year on July 14, with event organisers doubling the number of activities available to accommodate huge growth and popularity.

The annual winter festival transforms the centre of Warragul into a snow-filled playground with snow couriered into town from Mt Baw Baw alpine resort.

This year the event will expand on its carnival feel, with double the amount of rides as well as more free activities, food trucks, entertainment and fireworks for everyone.

There also will be an increase in local business participation as well as community group FReeZA’s involvement.

The beloved Howling Huskies are set to return while Happy the Calf makes his first appearance. Kids can enjoy the Aussie Farm Petting Zoo, learn from Gumbuya World’s Ranger Benny and be enchanted by Elsa from Disney’s Frozen.

Everyone can expect to be wowed by the Australian Mountain Boarders, Tim Coleman Motorbike Stunts, Fire Twirlers, Taiko

Drummers, and our very own local Pipe Band.

Through generous contributions by dozens of local businesses, Snowfest Gippsland will continue to have no entry fee and most activities - including snow play - remain free to everyone.

Visitors will be able to purchase a Snowfest pass for $10 which provides unlimited entry to all amusement rides including laser tag, rock climbing walls, ferris wheel, cup and saucer rides, giant slide, and five different jumping castles.

Adults can sit back and take in the atmosphere at the Press Cellars and Bandolier wine and beer garden or enjoy a hot chocolate while the kids play.

With more street closures included in Snowfest 2023, there will be great catering options from favourite Warragul food and coffee outlets and multiple “food courts” with seating, tables and entertainment.
