CQLX to go on show with tour
THE Central Queensland Livestock Exchange will be part of the Beef Australia 2018 Westpac property tours program on Thursday, May 10.
CQLX is part of the RLX portfolio which is a network of modern and innovative livestock selling facilities that currently handles over 754,000 cattle and 2,350,000 sheep annually.
This half day tour will give participants an insight into the operations and management of a multi-million-dollar sale yard with several key stakeholders being represented – buyers, vendors, transports, agents.
The key areas of focus on the tour to CQLX include low stress livestock handling, safe work practices and modern infrastructure.
Beef Australia Property Tour Chairman, Scott McCartney, believes the tour to CQLX will provide a great showcase of this section of the industry’s supply chain.
“The auction system forms an integral part of the supply chain in the beef industry, and as such needs to be innovative and efficient in its operation,” he said.
“The Beef Expo Tour provides an opportunity to demonstrate this.”
