Sharing quiet moments of outback life
THE droving life has been the subject of plenty of nostalgic ballads, paintings and yarns across Australia’s literary and pictorial history. Social media platforms like Facebook, however, are letting rural people share their own story, helping other people see the world through rural eyes, and to connect with their lives.
Ben Hann shares outstanding images of life and landscapes, working animals and people along the long paddock and across the Top End, through interest groups using the platform.
It’s an intimate kind of storytelling, etched in the amazing light of the Outback, and one that he hopes may be turned into a coffee-table book at some point.
