CHINESE E-COMMERCE

CORONA-FUELLED BOOM

-

With many cities in China in soft lockdown mode (at the time of writing) in a bid to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, digital reach is becoming more important than ever for brands and retailers. Despite a sharp decline in footfall in bricks-andmortar stores, trade carries on via WeChat and the WeChat Mini Program. China is already the global e-commerce leader with estimated sales of 1.5 trillion USD in 2019 and 855 million digital consumers, according to McKinsey. The digital boom could now accelerate even further during this crucial time.
