Teens se­lected for cap­i­tal oc­ca­sion

PARMELIA res­i­dent Kin­dle Valder­rama and Rock­ing­ham res­i­dent Marko Bu­la­tovic will travel to Can­berra with their Un­der-15 squad in Jan­uary to rep­re­sent WA in the 37th Foot­ball Fed­er­a­tion Aus­tralia Fut­sal Na­tional Cham­pi­onships.

All squads will play against states and re­gions from around Aus­tralia from Jan­uary 8 to 12.

Two Un­der-12 teams will join the Un­der-13, Un­der-14 and Un­der-15 squads.

Squads have been train­ing for 14 weeks.

Foot­ball West de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer Garry Church said he would travel with the squads as team man­ager, and would be joined by Clive Workum and Foot­ball West Na­tional Premier Leagues oper­a­tions co-or­di­na­tor Ben Fraser.

“It’s a great achieve­ment for each of th­ese play­ers to be se­lected to rep­re­sent their State at the Cham­pi­onships and to raise the pro­file of Fut­sal in Aus­tralia,” he said.

“I am con­fi­dent the play­ers trav­el­ling will ben­e­fit from the ex­pe­ri­ence of com­pet­ing on a na­tional stage and against a high stan­dard of op­po­si­tion.”

Sean D’Arcy will coach the U12 Black Swans, while Vic­tor Brauner will take on the U12 Gold Swans. Salv To­daro will lead the U13s, Dan Evans the U14s and Alex Her­rera will coach the U15s.
