Bowlers secure convincing wins
KWINANA Cricket Club’s bowlers dominated in both 2nd and 5th grades as they beat Kelmscott, but the one-day sides struggled for consistency.
The 2nd grade side batted first at home where openers Bartholomew Pratt (36) and Zac Boddy (35) made a great start.
Some solid partnerships pushed Kwinana’s total to a respectable 161 before an exceptional bowling display, led by fast bowler Daniel Bell’s 6-11, skittled Kelmscott for just 49.
Kwinana’s 5th grade side opted to bowl first in their oneday match against Kelmscott at Frye Park.
The bowlers dominated and, with Mark James taking 3-17, Kelmscott was all out for 103.
Kwinana was in trouble early at 3-12 but the middle order recovered to surpass the target, thanks to captain Marcus Draper making 38.
Some late order hitting from Adam Elawady (51no) took Kwinana to 8-196.
One-Day Cs were bowled out for 69 in just 22.3 overs after being put in to bat by Armadale at Gwynne Park.
Armadale ended their 40 overs on 9-159. Aaron Kirby
