Teen pleads guilty to crash charges
A TEENAGER has pleaded guilty to charges over a Secret Harbour crash last year that killed two of his friends and seriously injured another.
Joel John Payne was charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death and a third charge of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
Payne (19) was driving his friends Mason Hooton (17), Callum Mummery (19) and Shaun Sparrow (16) to a party in his silver Toyota Supra when he crashed into a tree in Secret Harbour on October 6.
Mr Hooton and Mr Mummery were both killed in the crash.
Mr Sparrow was critically injured.
Payne received minor injuries.
Payne is due to appear at the District Court on April 13 for a sentencing date.
