Leda man charged over crash

PO­LICE have charged a 31-yearold Leda man af­ter a Naval Base crash that in­jured two peo­ple while he was al­legedly three times over the le­gal blood al­co­hol limit.

Of­fi­cers were on Rock­ing­ham Road at 6.30pm last Thurs­day when a blue Holden Com­modore ap­proached them from be­hind and over­took them.

The of­fi­cers tried to pull the car over but the driver al­legedly ac­cel­er­ated away and they lost sight of him.

The of­fi­cers then saw a crash at the in­ter­sec­tion of Rock­ing­ham Road and An­ketell Road in­volv­ing the Com­modore and an­other ve­hi­cle.

The 25-year-old driver of the other car re­ceived a head wound.

Po­lice ar­rested the 31-year-old Com­modore driver and dis­qual­i­fied him im­me­di­ately.
