Value of coast sur­vey

THE Peron Nat­u­ral­iste Part­ner­ship, with sup­port from City of Rock­ing­ham, is un­der­tak­ing a coastal val­ues project at Waikiki Beach.

The project team has been work­ing to­gether since the mid­dle of last year to gain a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of what com­mu­ni­ties cur­rently value at the beach and how those val­ues may be af­fected by coastal ero­sion and cli­mate change.

Coastal adap­tion co­or­di­na­tor Joanne Lud­brook said it was im­por­tant to hear from the com­mu­nity to bet­ter plan and man­age coastal ar­eas in or­der to main­tain those fea­tures and uses of the coast.

The com­mu­nity and Waikiki Beach users are be­ing asked to com­plete a sur­vey on­line by vis­it­ing www.sur­veymon­­val­ues­rock­ing­ham.

Com­mu­nity mem­bers un­der­tak­ing the sur­vey are then asked at­tend a work­shop at the Safety Bay Li­brary on April 6.
