Visit here and you’ll be saying that I love Capri
Something for everyone in this ‘highly individualised’ new build will have family and guests purring as they enjoy their own private suites
IF a newly built home at sought-after Isle of Capri is on your property list look no further.
The locale, which is undergoing a renaissance with the recent addition of the Capri on Via Roma shopping precinct, planned road upgrades and proximity to the Cultural Precinct at Evandale, is almost built out, making it difficult to find a brand new property.
Owners Andrew and Fiona Bassingthwaite purchased and demolished an older dwelling at 24 Remo St to make way for this brand new contemporary abode, built by Valcon Homes.
Mr Bassingthwaite said it was cheaper to demolish and rebuild rather than renovate, and that starting with a blank canvas provided more opportunity to create a unique property.
“A lot of thought went into creating meaningful spaces in the home, which reflect the way people live,” he said.
“For example, the downstairs living area was designed with both a quiet night in and a Sunday barbecue in mind.
“You can light the fireplace, snuggle up and watch a movie in the lounge room, but if you’re entertaining, you can make use of the chef ’s kitchen, butler’s pantry and the built-in barbecue on the undercover terrace.”
Mr Bassingthwaite said the home features a “highly individualised” design, meaning that every occupant has a private suite to enjoy.
“The home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, so everyone has their own space and a retreat from the social hub downstairs,” he said.
