THE big sales keep coming on the Gold Coast with a Surfers Paradise mansion settling for $4.6 million this week according to CoreLogic.

The property at 32 Midshipman Court, Paradise Waters, had been on the market since May, 2016.

Michael Kollosche of Kollosche Prestige Agents took over the marketing two months ago and found a buyer for the waterfront home.

“We reduced the (listed) price to $4.79 million and sold it within two weeks,” Mr Kollosche said.

Sellers Anthony and Linda Maunder described their waterfront home as a place of serenity. The couple bought the 780sq m property in 2012 and renovated the home – it now channels an elegant and modern design.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom home features a glass-foyer with a pivot door that opens into the study and courtyard.

Mr Maunder said the home held great memories. “The kids would invite the children next door over and they would be in the pool until it got dark. We have a white sandy beach at the back and the kids would swim there as well.”

In other news, an array of luxury homes and development sites went under the hammer this week in one of the first Gold Coast auction events of the summer selling season.

A stable of 17 properties were up for auction at the Amir Mian Prestige Property Agents Auction Showcase at the Palazzo Versace.

Despite up to 25 registered bidders for the event and a diverse range of property stock, one property sold under the hammer. Bidding on a suburban Southport residence started at $400,000 before it was called on the market and sold for $610,000.

“The positive is that 90 per cent of the properties had bidders,” said principal Amir Mian. “Bidders are about 5 to 10 per cent shy from where the sellers are, so sellers are digging their heels in and so are the buyers.”
