Penthouse has all you need for smooth sailing

Choosing between a house with a pontoon or luxury apartment living isn’t an issue at this bayside penthouse, which comes complete with its own marina berth

- WORDS ANNA RAWLINGS

STUNNING and spacious, the penthouse’s design flows across striking limestone floors and a neutral palette, allowing its quality and surrounding vistas – a choice between the Broadwater or the hinterland – to shine.

“We just walked in here and it had the ‘wow’ factor with the views,” said vendor Leigh Ainsworth.

The former CEO of Coates Hire had just retired in 2015 and he and his wife, Jane, were looking to downsize from their large Coomera River house, but needed to find somewhere that would accommodate their boat.

“The penthouse came with a marina berth and our apartment overlooks the berth as well, so we could keep an eye on it,” Mr Ainsworth said.

The couple’s 30ft Riviera has been snug in the 12m berth ever since, and the penthouse was a perfect fit.

The Ainsworths paid special care to their new home when they moved in, having it repolished, repainted and recarpeted.

“What was striking to us was the amount of storage here, it had more storage than we had in a 600sq m house,” Mr Ainsworth said.

“There is side-by-side parking for three cars and all the bedrooms are ensuited.”

The couple is now trading in their nautical neighbourhood to hit the road in their luxury new caravan.

The residence is located in the sought-after Sonvea building, within the award-winning Allisee resort-style development.
