HOME is an amazing four-letter word.

It means so much to so many people. Your home is one of the most valuable assets that you will ever own.

You might have spent years scrimping and saving to get your first home deposit and then you were able to make your first moves on the property ladder. And now you are higher up on that financial ladder.

Your home is also important to you for emotional reasons. Your home is your castle. Your home is worth fighting for. It is the place the where memories were made and the place where you shared time with loved ones; good times, bad times and all the times in between.

It comes to no surprise to anybody that selling your home is among the top 10 most stressful life events that people go through.

However, there are another four letters that will help you in this stressful time: REIQ.

Dealing with agencies who are members of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland will give you greater peace of mind.

To be an REIQ accredited agency, members must be committed to continuing professional development and training. That means they are regularly educated about trends and changes.

And they are regularly updated about legal changes, and most people could not imagine how often laws relating to real estate change.

REIQ members also have access to the latest property research data and have access to REIQ standard contracts, which have been approved by the Queensland Law Society. REIQ agents must also adhere to a strict code of ethics and they must carry professional indemnity insurance. So, when it is time to sell your home, think about the four letters, REIQ.
