CONSTRUCTION of a $260 million luxury apartment tower on Chevron Island is due to start early next year.

It comes following a strong sales campaign and demolition starting on the five blocks that will become home to the new development.

Chevron One, which is being developed by Bensons Property Group, will rise 40 levels above its prime position at 36-44 Stanhill Drive.

Bensons managing director Rick Curtis said strong interest and buyer activity meant $39 million worth residences had sold since the project launched in March.

Most buyers have been owner-occupiers, who were attracted to the location and the project’s resort-style design.

The tower will have 247 apartments with one, two, three and four-bedroom designs.

Its wave-inspired design will be created by Marchese Partners.

Mr Curtis said it offered a new level of sophistication and luxury to the Coast.
