Coastal location a standout feature

On the hunt for a home in a peaceful suburban pocket but is also close to all the Gold Coast action? This house offers the best of both worlds

IT might be nestled in a quiet suburban culde-sac but this waterfront home is only minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the Glitter Strip.

Pacific Fair, The Star Gold Coast, beach and popular Broadbeach cafes and restaurants are within walking distance.

The location was what attracted Michael and Rachael Furnell and their three children to the property almost a decade ago.

Mr Furnell said his teenage daughters loved being so close to the light rail while they often strolled down to the beach and casino.

The family, who moved from Hobart, have lived in the four-bedroom property for eight years.

Mr Furnell said the outdoor area overlooking the water was one of their favourite spots to spend time together.

“The kitchen and dining area opens up outdoors (as) we’ve got extended doors that track back,” he said.

“I’ve got a little barbecue and pizza oven so once a week we try to have homemade pizzas.”

The home also has a study, which could be used as a fifth bedroom, as well as a pool with waterfall, shed and built-in Bosch coffee machine in the kitchen.

Mr Furnell said they would miss living in the house but “we’re just ready for a change”.
