More than the norm at Ormeau

The Avenue is perfect for families looking to build their dream home in a leafy setting

A SPIKE in first home buyers are behind the launch of the second stage of $10 million housing project The Avenue at Ormeau.

Situated on the northern Gold Coast, the 1.5ha development will feature 47 blocks starting from $255,900. Each site is more than 500sq m in size.

The development has attracted neighbouring Coomera residences Nicholas Tungatoa and Petra Mackintosh (pictured with their children Nevaya and Hudson), who have bought a 520 sqm parcel of land.

Mr Tungatoa said the size of the property paired with the State Government’s $15,000 First Home Owners’ Grant drew them to sign a contract with Azure Development Group.

“Our land at The Avenue is really well positioned and it’s just so much bigger than anything else on the market … we were expecting to have to travel out west in a place more rural for this kind of size,” he said.

“The site is nice and flat too – a lot of the other land was much smaller and quite steep, which isn’t ideal for families wanting to put in a trampoline like us.

“The State Government Grant was also an incentive as we were saving for something anyway but weren’t sure where we wanted to buy so it has been a great bonus for us.”

Azure Development Group director Trent Keirnan said interest from southeast Queenslanders entering the property market had driven the launch of the second phase.

“The Avenue is perfect for families looking to build their dream home in a leafy, private setting without wanting to compromise on space or location – our properties are on average 70sqm larger than other sites in the Brisbane and Gold Coast corridor, which has been driving demand with first home buyers planning on building their forever home,” he said.

The Avenue is on Eggersdorf Rd.
