TWO luxury villas under construction in one of the Gold Coast’s most popular suburbs are attracting cashed-up Baby Boomers.

The boutique Mermaid Beach residences on Petrel Ave were designed by Gold Coast-based company Studio Workshop. Kollosche Prestige Agents managing director Jordan Williams said they offered a luxury lifestyle without the maintenance of a house.

He said they catered to house hunters looking for smaller properties close to the beach and city’s amenities.

“We’re getting a lot of cashed-up buyers who are downsizing – Baby Boomers moving beachside,” he said.

Mr Williams said the two-storey villas were attracting prospective buyers even though they were still under construction. “They’re due for completion in a couple of months but I’ve actually got a few people already who want to look through,” he said.

One of the villas is built over 220sq m while the other is on 213sq m.

They each have three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a powder room, an alfresco area and plunge pool. They are on the market at $1.595 million each.
