THE multimillion-dollar sale of a Sovereign Islands mega mansion not only marks the top sale in the past week but the second highest for its street.

An interstate buyer splashed $5.28 million on the property at 16 Westminster Court, which settled earlier this week.

It was snapped up in an off-market deal through Jeffrey Sturgess and Colleen Brunt of Amir Mian Prestige Property Agents.

Mr Sturgess said they had been helping the buyers find a property in the area for the past few years.

“They’d been looking on the island for quite some time,” he said.

“The owner had a price in mind and we got pretty close to what she was looking for.”

The four-storey home was designed and built by the owner who, according to property records, bought the site in 2006.

Mr Sturgess said she has lived there with her family since.

He said the buyers loved the luxury house’s spacious and versatile floorplan.

It has five bedrooms and multiple indoor and outdoor living areas divided among the levels.

It has a neutral palette with modern fixtures and fittings and walls of windows to make the most of the water views. “The floorplan suited them,” he said. “It was really well designed. “The house itself looks straight down the internal part of the Broadwater so the views are spectacular.

“All the rooms benefit from that view.”

The sale marks the second highest on Westminster Court.

The street’s top sale was set in 2011 when No. 18-20 sold for $8.3 million.

Amir Mian Prestige Property Agents have recorded a number of million-dollar sales in the past couple of weeks.

A Southport property at 3 Brighton Parade sold under the hammer on the weekend for $2.2 million, as did an Isle of Capri property at 13 La Spezia Court for $1.58 million.
