Soak up the view

Live a glamorous lifestyle overlooking the Glitter Strip from the hills of Tallai

THE term “Hinterland haven” is used liberally to describe luxury residences or character homes on the western side of the Gold Coast, but one property can confidently claim the title.

This lavish mansion on a Tallai hilltop has everything a homeowner could want and more.

With a tennis court, gym, sauna, multiple pools and spas, wet bar and wine cellar among its standout features, you will never need to leave the house.

The home on The Panorama was built by Frank and Jenny Mesiano in 2001.

“We used an architect out of Melbourne, Ermin Smrekar, who built and finished the home in two years,” Mr Mesiano said.

“It was to be our family home forever so low-maintenance and a timeless design were part of the brief to the architect. It was all about the lifestyle and raising a family.”

It has plenty of floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the stunning vistas – arguably some of the best on the Gold Coast.

It was these sweeping views that stretch from Stradbroke Island to Tweed Heads that drew the Mesianos to the 3ha block.

“That’s why we ended up there, because of the views, and it’s very secluded, peaceful and safe,” he said.

“It’s a place you don’t have to leave as the property has everything, but you’re only 20 minutes to the beach and ten minutes to the bottom of the hill where there’s great schools and Robina Town Centre.”

The 1291sq m three-level house has five bedrooms, multiple living and dining areas, a study, games room, and double garage with workshop.

The main living areas are on the ground floor, most of which open onto a large terrace.

The lounge room is a standout with a marble fireplace and 500kg feature marble wall piece.

Four of the bedrooms are upstairs, including the main, all of which have their own balconies.

A fifth bedroom is on the basement level and is self-contained with access to a kitchen, bathroom and two living areas. All three levels overlook the tennis court and coastline.

The Mesiano family moved closer to the beach in 2012 but have been managing the property as a luxury holiday rental in recent years.

“The business is still running but we’ve stopped taking bookings,” Mr Mesiano said.

“So, the next owner could develop it into a full-time venture as it’s quite substantial.”

Ray White Broadbeach agents Sam Guo and Julia Kuo are marketing the property under an expressions of interest campaign, which closes on November 26.

Mr Guo said it was one of the best homes in the Hinterland.

“It feels like one of those houses in Beverly Hills with a real wow factor,” he said. “It’s a very grand and private paradise.”
