IT was the promise of wide water frontage that lured Dennis and Gail Gilbert to their Sovereign Islands house.

As a self-confessed ‘boatie’, Mr Gilbert liked that the property had 24.5m of water frontage, offering plenty of space for his boat. “Plus the pool is very private,” he said.

The couple have spent a lot of time in the house’s outdoor entertainment area in the four years they have lived there. Mr Gilbert said it was one of their favourite parts of the home.

“It’s got a nice back veranda, we’ve had family barbecues there and happy hour,” he said.

The two-storey house is on a 747sq m block and has four bedrooms plus a study that could be converted into a fifth bedroom.

Its standout features include a media room with projector and screen, the waterfront pool with dual zone spa and curved feature staircase.

Mr Gilbert said the home had served them well over the years and they had barely changed anything about it.

“We just changed the colour, that’s all,” he said. “It was a terrible pink.”
