Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin - Property
Triple sales treat
Three multimillion-dollar sales have been penned, including a $4.1 million deal at auction
A MELBOURNE family seeking the Gold Coast’s sunny and laid-back lifestyle have found a grand Sorrento house to call home.
Three bidders vied for the keys to the fivebedroom house at the auction last weekend, with another two registered bidders watching on.
An eye-watering $3.5 million bid kicked off the auction action before competitive bidding by the three parties pushed the price past the $4 million mark. The hammer fell at $4.1 million. Ray White Broadbeach duo Sam Guo and Julia Kuo marketed the waterfront mansion at 26-28 Donegal Cres.
“We took 20 groups through the property during its campaign,” Mr Guo said.
“It’s such a magnificent house on a 1961sq m block with a huge 61m (of ) water frontage plus a tennis court on a canal in Sorrento, which is such a great area.”
Mr Guo said the large interstate family of seven plan to relocate to the Gold Coast.
The home was designed with entertainers in mind with multiple living spaces and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor areas. It also featured a floating pontoon, boat ramp, pool, grass tennis court, 600bottle wine cellar, theatre and gymnasium.
Another two multimillion-dollar sales were notched by the Ray White pair last week.
A modern, six-bedroom house at 91 Gibraltar Drive, Isle of Capri, sold after it passed in at auction. It fetched an undisclosed figure, believed to be above $3 million. An interstate Chinese buyer plans to use it as a holiday home.
An almost $3 million deal was also penned for a Southport sub-penthouse. The fourbedroom apartment in the Rivage Royale building was snapped up by a local buyer after just three weeks on the market.
