Bid on luxury homes
The prestige property market shows no signs of slowing down with a string of hefty sales
THE prestige property market has ended the financial year on a high, with a series of strong sales recorded in the run to June.
A Sydney-based Chinese buyer raised the benchmark in exclusive Cronin Island with the $12.45m purchase of 15 Southern Cross Drive late last month.
The price sets a new record for the Surfers Paradise riverfront enclave and more than doubles the $6.1 million seller Tarry Gavin paid Nicole Perrin back in 2012.
Built over two lots, the seven-bedroom residence with a 2000-bottle wine cellar and 12-car garage was once home to former Billabong International CEO Matthew Perrin. Michael Kollosche and Ryan Ward of Kollosche agency handled the sale.
Harcourts Coastal reports a record month of sales for June, with 130 sales netting almost $100 million, up $30 million on the same month last year.
Harcourts Coastal agent Tolemy Stevens closed two sales to Sydney buyers via
FaceTime, including the Vue Broadbeach sub penthouse for $2.2 million and Surfers Paradise beachfront Apartment 501 in Northcliff Residences for $2.4 million.
Mr Stevens also assisted a North Queensland couple to realise their dream of retiring by the beach when they secured a luxury penthouse at 7/19 Broadbeach Blvd, Surfers Paradise for $5 million.
Big dollars have also changed hands on popular Goodwin Terrace in Burleigh Heads where a couple paid $7 million for a nearcentury old Queenslander on 546sq m.
Built in 1922, it’s the fourth time new owners have paid a premium for the wellknown red-roofed home which enjoys ocean views on the climb to Burleigh headland.
That deal was handled off-market by JLE Projects Broadbeach Director Jamie Lee Edwards.
