THE Gold Coast is often referred to as the penthouse capital of Australia and it’s not hard to see why.

With an abundance of towers dotting the coastline, luxury sky-home living has become ingrained in the culture that is the Glitter Strip.

The latest penthouse to hit the market is in the recently constructed $79 million residential apartment project Elysian Broadbeach.

The building was developed by Spyre Group with two double-storey penthouses on levels 19 and 20 topping the sleek and modern boutique tower on Old Burleigh Rd.

“Sophisticated” is a word Daniel Laruccia, Spyre Group’s managing director, keeps coming back to when referring to the residences in Elysian.

“The general feedback is Elysian has really lifted the state of play on architecture on the Gold Coast,” Mr Laruccia said.

“We wanted to offer something different in Broadbeach and have those sophisticated living spaces throughout the residences.”

The penthouses however, are in a league of their own with a focus on luxury detailing and high-end materials.

The floorplan of No. 1901 includes a large open-plan living and dining area alongside the stylish kitchen and butler’s pantry.

“One of the most important elements with our floor designs was to make sure there was that full floor of living,” he said.

“When your guests come over you’ve got that living area to entertain.”

The outdoor balcony on level 20 is ideal for entertaining or unwinding. “Another key feature on top of this building is the beautiful architectural design,” he said. “There is that curved glazing on top that also acts as a wind brace. It’s worked really well.”

And don’t forget about those multimilliondollar views. “You’re not just staring straight at the blue water,” he said. “You’ve got the parkland area, Broadbeach Esplanade there with people training as well as the tree line that separates the parkland and ocean. You’ve got the green to the white sands to the blue.”

There is also a study nook, 2.9m ceilings, and a main bedroom with a walk-in-wardrobe and bath overlooking the ocean.

“All three bedrooms upstairs have natural light sources while two out of the three bathrooms have natural light,” he said. “That’s quite hard to come by.” The new owner of the penthouse will also have access to Elysian’s communal facilities which include a heated pool, sauna and gym, residents lounge and dining area.

The penthouse is on the market with a $3.05 million price tag. “We think it’s a fair price for the offering,” Mr Laruccia said.

“Every building has a penthouse but it’s what you do on the top level that makes it really special for the buyer. We really think what we’ve brought to the market in this instance give the full offering.”
