Palmy pad to turn prices up a notch
PALM Beach’s ritzy oceanfront stretch has been kicked up a notch with the listing of this luxury beachfront pad priced at $16.5m. If achieved, the sale price would be the highest paid for a residential property in the exclusive southern Gold Coast enclave.
Originally built by former V8 Supercar driver Paul Weel and his wife Emma in 2017, the stylish five-bedroom home on a double block was designed by leading architect Bayden Goddard.
All bedrooms have ensuited bathrooms, while the top level master suite has a private balcony overlooking the ocean.
Downstairs there is polished concrete flooring and a living room with direct access to the beachfront pool.
The first floor has high ceilings, timber flooring and feature VJ walls.
Marketing agent Amir Mian, of Amir
Prestige, said the hefty listing price — three times more than the owners paid in 2018 — reflected incredible local market growth. An older neighbouring property at 506 The Esplanade sold under the hammer for $12m in October.
“It is especially rare to find a house of this calibre on a north-east double block. So not only do you have the sensational absolute beachfront views right down to Coolangatta, but there is a massive garden with beautiful magnolia trees lined up on the side,” Mr Mian said.
The home is positioned between Palm Beach’s thriving village scene, and the boutiques and cafes of Burleigh Heads.
“There is also secure internal parking for three cars, which again is very rare for beachfront living here, and off-street parking for another three cars ,” Mr Mian said.
