Record sale in central Benowa

A landmark property has sold to a Brisbane buyer in a multimilliondollar deal

THE $6.335 million sale of a Gold Coast house has smashed the suburb record for Benowa this week. The house at 150 Sir Bruce Blvd was inspired by the glamorous grandeur of Los Angeles mega-mansions and sold well before its scheduled auction to a Brisbane buyer.

Sellers Martin and Dina Kenins, who operate as Kenins Developments, are behind the ultra modern two-level design known as The Lakehouse, which was launched to market earlier this month.

It has won industry experts over with the home chalking up several awards.

Kollosche agent Jamie Harrison, who led the marketing campaign, said the residence attracted a strong pool of potential buyers and multiple offers.

“Our strategy for a home of this calibre was to present the property to the right buyers, rather than wait for the buyers to come to us,” said Mr Harrison.

“We had 15 qualified groups through the first private inspection, and they were all blown away by the architecture, the standard of the craftsmanship and the location overlooking the lake.”

The vendors recognised the potential to build something that would really stand out on the oversized block.

“As soon as we stepped onto the vacant block you could see the potential with wide water views and views to the hinterland,” he said.

“We have a construction development company and this has been our favourite build. It has been a pleasure to live here.

“I am a hands-on builder and a perfectionist, so what we built had to be absolutely perfect,” he said.

The mega sale trumps the $4.875 million achieved last December for a main river mansion at 151 Sir Bruce Small Boulevard.

The sale price also establishes a new benchmark for any residence fronting the private lake that is bordered by Sir Bruce Small Blvd, Edinburgh Rd and Annies Court.

The Gold Coast’s prestige property market continues to defy signs of a slowdown with speedy seven-figure sales for premium real estate in key locations.

Kollosche sold the Xanadu penthouse, at 150/59 Pacific Street, Main Beach in less than two weeks for $7 million on April 14.
