Grand home knows how to impress

-

PUSH back the gates at this prestigious address in Clear Island Waters and the grand, stately home that lies beyond leave quite an impression. With two Roman columns rising to the double-height portico, and multi-level rooflines, its imposing facade is not one to forget in a hurry.

And what lies behind its front door is equally as impressive.

The owners, local dentist Raymond Boctor and his wife Jo, have recently renovated the property, which they have owned since 2009, decking it out with swathes of calacutta marble, custom cabinetry and all the latest mod-cons.

The first floor has a kitchen with a huge butler’s pantry, as well as multiple living spaces and a guest bedroom. The rest of the bedrooms can be found on the upper storey in what is a functional family home floor plan. Outside is a custom-built pool, alfresco dining area and fire pit.

Marketing agent Joshua Soineva of Amir Prestige Group said it was a quintessential family home in a prestigious pocket and one of only a handful with direct Surfers Paradise skyline views.

“The owners have really transformed this home. Buyers particularly love its privacy and location,” Mr Soineva said.

Situated at the end of a quiet cul de sac, Mr Soineva said the area was very private and peaceful, although there was one exception.

In December the Boctors like to get into the Christmas spirit, covering the home in festive lighting. “They’re quite well known for their Christmas lights,” Mr Soineva said. “The neighbours have said they are sad they will not be seeing them this year.”

Instead the Boctors have decided they want to have a crack at country living, and are looking to move to an acreage.
