Keep your eye on the prize home

- – Viva Hyde

ROGER Moore has been living the dream for the past 18 months after winning a stunning acreage estate in Tallebudgera Valley in a charity lottery. Originally from South Australia, Mr Moore threw in his job, packed up his belongings and moved in to the four-bedroom, two-bathroom designer home on a 6,591sq m lot bordering the Gold Coast hinterland.

The spacious single-level home has an airy country ambience, with raked ceilings and large windows.

A custom stone fireplace and beautiful wood floors are highlights of natural textures used throughout, while the stylish kitchen forms the social hub of open-plan living spaces.

Wide glass doors open onto an inviting al fresco terrace with an outdoor kitchen and built-in barbecue, and there’s also a pool, cabana and firepit.

Motor enthusiasts and hobbyists alike will love the super-sized shed with three-phase power.

“The luxury and the opulence of living in something as grand as this and the country around it is so green — it’s just a very relaxed lifestyle. Everything is at a different pace,” Mr Moore said.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve made the decision to leave, but it is mainly to be back with friends and family in Adelaide,” he said.

Marketing agent Troy Fitzgerald of Ray White Burleigh Group said he would not be surprised if the prize home was bought by someone who had entered the lottery draw.

“They’ve already got an emotional connection to the property and would’ve, at one stage, visualised themselves living here, so this is really their second chance.”
