Mansion reaches new level of luxury

- – Aleisha Dawson

HE is the man behind the record-setting, Sovereign Islands mega mansion Utopia, its replica residence Bellagio and Villa Verona. Renowned Gold Coast builder Scott Widdicombe is certainly no stranger when it comes to building in the luxurious Paradise Point enclave.

His latest project at 11 Hampton Court, however, is a full-scale renovation.

The jaw-dropping three-level house with 23m of water frontage and a pontoon suitable for a large boat has been extensively updated in a contemporary style and is set to go under the hammer this month.

The sprawling residence has a seemingly endless list of features, including a glass lift, cinema, wine cellar, wet bar and basement car park where five cars can fit comfortably.

There is a resort-style outside entertainment area with an outdoor kitchen overlooking the 20m pool, spa and steam room.

Finding added extras in this property is a given, with LED lighting, stone benches and stainless steel appliances all included as standard.

Ray White Sovereign Islands agent Edin Kara, who is marketing the property said Mr Widdicombe was prepared to meet the market on price.

“The owner is realistic and has already purchased another property,” he said.

“This is a quality renovation with no expense spared.”

Among Mr Widdicombe’s stand-out builds on Sovereign Islands was the record-setting Utopia, which he built in 2008.

The six-bedroom, ten-bathroom home at 72-74 The Sovereign Mile remains a landmark property in the exclusive suburb.

Mr Widdicombe went on to build the four-level Bellagio residence at 26 Hampton Court, which was modelled on Utopia. It featured a similar layout and concrete build.

He then renovated Villa Verona at 1-3 Queen Guineveres Place turning it into an up-market and modern Italianstyle home.
