A spring in the step of sellers

Opportunities seized upon in Gold Coast and northern NSW

- ALEISHA DAWSON

THE spring selling season has well and truly kicked off with agents reporting a flurry of activity across the Gold Coast and northern NSW. South of the border at Casuarina, showstopper property Otsu House sold for $5.3m through Nick Witheriff of LJ Hooker Kingscliff.

Rachel and Josh Ooi are the brains behind the northern NSW house at 3 Beech Lane, Casuarina, which combines manmade and natural elements to create a Mediterranean-inspired beach house.

Set over two levels on a 720sq m beachfront block, the recently built house offers a modern coastal vibe with white render, timber flooring and superb finishes.

Back on the Gold Coast and Amir Prestige agent Nat King managed to find a buyer for 120 Pacific Parade, Bilinga which sold for a suburb record of $4.72m.

The 506sq m property, which overlooks the beach, sold to a Brisbane buyer.

“The buyers are going to use the home as a beach house base and will eventually live in it when they reside full time on the Gold Coast,” Ms King said.

“I feel buyer activity has increased again – we are still achieving good prices for our vendors and I certainly don’t see it slowing down any time soon.”

Further north and it took four days for a double-storey Mediterranean-style home at 26 Midshipman Parade, Paradise Waters, to be snapped up.

Marketed by Kollosche’s Michael Kollosche and Jay Helprin, it was the first time the waterfront property had been offered to market. It sold for $4.3m ahead of its scheduled auction on September 23.

Another deal in Surfers Paradise was brokered by Harcourts Coastal agent Chrstine Tucker, who sold 114 Amalfi Drive, Isle of Capri for $4.1m.

And in Burleigh Waters a six-bedroom house at 62 Burleigh St sold for $3.407m through Kingfisher Realty.

“Despite interest rate rises and talk about the market heading for a downturn, buyer interest in beach suburbs, waterfront homes, and quality new turnkey properties here on the Gold Coast continues to be strong,” said Kingfisher Realty principal Conal Martin.
