What started as a holiday escape became home sweet home for Patrick Joyce when he moved from Sydney to the tranquil shores of Hope Island quite unexpectedly. “This was supposed to be a holiday house, but it ended up being our full-time house,” Mr Jones said.

“It is not only a wonderful home, but it is situated in such a welcoming community.

“When we first arrived in Sanctuary Cove from Sydney, we could not believe how friendly everyone was, and so we couldn’t leave.”

Mr Jones said the area surrounding the five-bedroom, five-bathroom home at 2516 Cressbrook Drive, Hope Island was currently experiencing a “changing of the guard”.

“The people who bought off the plan when they were 35 are in their 60s now and they’re downsizing and young families are moving in,” he said.

“The access to Brisbane means people can commute without too much hassle and Hope Island has got a bit of an x-factor about it.”

And what he will miss the most about the home, which is situated on a calming stretch of the Coomera River, is impossible to replace. “The view here is magical,” he said. “You look out on to the mangroves, and they actually change colour over the course of the day. The aspect of the home means the summer sun sets over to the west and the winter sun comes right in and warms you up.”

A fusion of natural, coastal and Scandi style influences combine to create this modern masterpiece, with soaring ceilings and a mix of polished concrete, timber, and stone finishes.

Spread out across four sophisticated living areas indoors, there is a chef’s kitchen, butler’s pantry and two alfresco entertaining zones – one with an outdoor kitchen, supersized pool, and in-built smoker.

The master suite is its very own sanctuary, with deluxe dressing room, a waterfront balcony and marble tiled ensuite with dual shower and freestanding bath.

The other bedrooms are all oversized, with the potential for dual living or a teenagers retreat in bedroom three and a guest quarter located downstairs.

Features are no-expense-spared standard, with smart stone benches, European appliances, an elegant bar with dual Vintec wine fridges, bio-ethanol fireplace, media room and a library.

Pocket slider doors allow for easy indoor/ outdoor integration and there is parking for

four cars and a pontoon able to accommodate a 54ft vessel.

Kollosche Broadbeach agent William Sarti said Hope Island was characterised by quiet, leafy streets with a diverse choice of education facilities and the Gold Coast’s top theme parks nearby.

“Hope Island Resort offers a golf-buggy lifestyle with access to three world-class golf courses – Links Hope Island, The Pines and The Palms,” he said.

“Residents enjoy all the perks of a luxury holiday with boutique shopping, cafes and restaurants.”
