Burleigh tower plan expands

-

LEADING developer David Devine has abandoned the original plans for a Burleigh tower in favour of building an even bigger one.

Mr Devine has dumped the already approved and sold-out Alba tower after successfully amalgamating its site on North Burleigh’s The Esplanade with neighbouring land.

His company, DD Living, lodged plans with the Gold Coast City Council over the weekend for Burly, a $400m, 24-storey tower which will have 100 units.

Those who bought units in Alba will have their purchases transferred to the new tower.

Mr Devine said the decision to build the larger tower was made after the neighbouring land became available.

“It’s not easy to amalgamate sites on The Esplanade, but when you do, it delivers a better result for both the apartment purchaser and the Gold Coast community as a whole,” he said.

“When the opportunity presents itself, you need to grab it with both hands.

“We are making the most of this opportunity with a new architectural design that improves the residential offering, which is only possible now after doubling the space we originally had.”

The new tower will have larger units, with a mixture one, two and three bedrooms and a penthouse.

Marketing agency Total Property Group is managing apartment sales at Burly and said there was huge demand for premium apartments on the beach.

“The Esplanade at Burleigh is one of Gold Coast’s most desirable places to live and Burly will meet the demand we have been seeing for prestige property in locations of this quality,” Total Property Group managing director Adrian Parsons said. “Burleigh with its world-famous headland and pristine beach is one of Australia’s most desirable lifestyle destinations.” Burly, to be built at 264-268 The Esplanade, will go before council for approval in early 2023.
