Experience Breeds Success

When it comes to procuring an asset along the southern coast, the level of experience and intricate depth of knowledge held by Troy Dowker and his team are second to none.

The Gold Coast’s southern beaches are a magnet for people chasing an idyllic, laid-back coastal lifestyle. Yet every suburb from Burleigh Heads to Coolangatta is different, making it difficult to know which offers the right fit.

Kollosche agent Troy Dowker has spent 19 years building an unrivalled knowledge of each of those suburbs and, backed by a specialist team, has positioned himself as the top-selling agent along the southern coastline.

Life-Changing Decisions

When Troy first entered the real estate scene in 2003, he admits it took a while for him to feel inspired and motivated. “When I started, I wasn’t all in, wasn’t really committed,” says Troy, “but in 2006 my wife became pregnant and that was my catalyst for change. If I wanted to support a family, I needed to apply my all or nothing to the job. I decided to apply my all.”

With his attention focused, Troy quickly learned what was required to succeed in the real estate industry. “I started hustling harder, became hungrier, more disciplined and improved my delivery. Within six months my volume of sales and listings lifted, everything became stronger.”

Specialist Knowledge

Troy then turned his focus to the southern beaches, an area in which he lives – and loves. “I always think you should sell property in an area you love. Living in Currumbin, it made sense to me to start there as I was already a part of the fabric of that community,” says Troy.

“Understanding an area, down to a street level, and how that relates to a client's needs offers a huge advantage. “When you’re selling property, it’s not just about what suburb, it’s about what precinct, what street. It’s about understanding the demographics of an area and what it has to offer a client and how that relates to what they are looking for. “You don’t gain that level of knowledge overnight. It comes from years of hard work and application.”

Building a Strong Team

Troy has always sought to mentor others and he has built a knowledgeable and dedicated support team to provide a more streamlined and efficient service for clients.

Sales Associate Isabella Burns has been a longstanding member of Team Dowker and plays a prominent role as sellers’ concierge, nurturing clients, handling sales processes, and facilitating settlements. “Isabella is hard-working, honest, and caring and has excellent knowledge of the southern Gold Coast,” says Troy

Inside Sales Assistant James Roberts joined Team Dowker 14 months ago and specialises in nurturing clients as a buyers’ concierge, and is a reliable and trustworthy operator.

Troy says: “James has an outstanding real estate IQ. He is a fast learner, with a real understanding of the real estate structure and processes, and he has a polished delivery.”

Client Service Manager Ashlie Excell is the newest recruit to the team and has more than 10 years of industry experience. The engine room of the operation, Ashlie specialises in marketing and administration and is a natural problem-solver. Genuine and down-to-earth, she delivers an excellent customer experience.

A Seasoned, Steady Hand

Troy’s extensive career has exposed him to almost every type of property market cycle; from the lows of the global financial crisis to the more recent highs experienced during the pandemic.

This has helped Troy and his team to position themselves as the obvious choice for vendors and buyers in times of uncertainty. “Anyone can captain a boat and sail well in calm seas, but when it gets turbulent you need someone who has been through it before and can navigate well through the challenging areas,” says Troy. “That’s what people who deal with Team Dowker can expect – a steady hand to steer them through their property journey, with expert knowledge and confidence. “Our longevity in the market comes back to us being seasoned and experienced.”

Actions Reap Rewards

Troy continues to cement his credentials as the leading agent on the southern beaches. In September he broke a price record in Burleigh Heads with the $9,700,000 sale of 10-12 Elanora Drive. The waterfront house attracted a large crowd and 12 bidders on auction day, including three who were active in bidding beyond $9,000,000. The sale exceeded the previous suburb record by almost $4,500,000 and set a new price benchmark on the southern Gold Coast for a non-beachfront property.

Troy’s achievements in the market are further backed by a swathe of industry accolades.

A stellar performance throughout 2021 led him to be listed in the 2022 REB top 10 selling agents in Queensland, having negotiated almost $192,299,777 in verified settled sales for his clients.

He was also recognised as the 2021 Queensland Agent of the Year and at the 2022 Australiasian Real Estate Awards, where he was named National Agent of the Year.
