Renowned renovators Jodie and Chris Kaperonis have morphed 10 The Yardarm, Runaway Bay from a diamond in the rough to a sought-after film clip location after a whirlwind transformation. The update included the gargantuan task of moving the pool and “seven-days-a-week work” that Mrs Kaperonis said the family put their “full heart and soul” into.

And the results have even attracted the attention of rock stars looking for that “Ibiza feel” including Victor J Sefo and Kuami who used the property as the backdrop for their latest music video - Forever.

“In a couple of weeks, they are filming a pilates class here too,” Mrs Kaperonis said.

“We really wanted to make this place something special and it seems we achieved what we set out to do.”

Admitting husband Chris gets “bored” without a renovation project on the go, Mrs Kaperonis said the scope of the project was initially “overwhelming”.

“This was always a great house, it passed the building and pest with flying colours, but it was pink with writing on the walls and grass up to your thighs when we got it,” she said.

“We’ve always been renovators, but this was another level entirely, however once we made a plan with the landscape designer, we could see what it could become, and we knew how amazing we could make it.”

The renovation took 13 months and included several phases of inconveniences for the Kaperonis family.

“We slept downstairs with all four beds lined up for nine weeks while we gutted upstairs,” Mrs Kaperonis said.

“But the mission was a true transformation and we have achieved that and we are so proud of our hard work.”

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home reeks of Mediterranean luxury, with the kingsize master bedroom and travertine tiled ensuite capitalising on expansive water views.

Expertly using every inch of the 853sq m block to its utmost advantage, the property is an entertainer’s paradise, with a huge undercover entertaining area with Uniqwa latte pole detailing, outdoor kitchen, new sparkling pool, and super-sized pool house.

Features abound both inside and out, with multiple open-plan living and dining areas, a chef’s kitchen, and luxurious fittings.

Those with an eye for detail will love the 80-year-old Indian doors leading into the laundry and powder room, travertine tiling and ABI tapware throughout, remotecontrolled ceiling fans and LED lighting, Moroccan hanging lights and premium wool carpet.

Extras include ducted vacuum, new wiring, plumbing and drainage, a 10m x 3m powered pontoon with established gardens and even a feature Pandanus Mrs Kaperonis had craned into the previously bare yard.

10 The Yardarm is within walking distance to the Runaway Bay Sports Complex, two primary schools, a library and is a short drive to Gold Coast University Hospital, Griffith University and stretches of famous Gold Coast beaches.

The property is up for auction through Harcourts Coastal, with the auction date planned for November 29 at 11am
