A career spanning almost two decades coupled with a desire to gain an in-depth understand­ing of his clients’ requiremen­ts has earned Ryan a trusted reputation among high-net worth individual­s seeking properties on key streets in Main Beach, Mermaid Beach and along Main River.

Vetting clients is an important part of his process and Ryan’s experience means he knows exactly what questions to ask to gain the informatio­n required to match buyers with the right property. “Understand­ing a buyer’s profile ends up helping vendors because it means we’re not wasting anybody’s time. “Some buyers know exactly what they want. If I don’t have anything that fits their brief then I’ll try and find it for them, by door knocking or collaborat­ing with colleagues, who may have a property that fits the bill. “Sometimes clients are unsure about what they want until they see it. That is when you really need to listen, to get to know them and understand who they are as people, so you can bring viable properties to them.”

Always striving to go the extra mile, Ryan takes the time to acquire informatio­n not only about his clients, but also every available property – on and off market – along some of the Gold Coast’s most prestigiou­s streets.

He immediatel­y knows which properties can, for example, accommodat­e multiple cars, have a pontoon that can moor a particular size cruiser, or are the closest to specific key amenities.

Showcasing this excellent knowledge base and ability to collaborat­e, Ryan recently helped a client relocating from Sydney to the Gold Coast to secure a home in Surfers Paradise.

The brief was to find a large house, with a private pool and wide water views, to emulate the clients’ Sydney lifestyle.

The client says: “It was a difficult request. We looked at about 30 houses and eight or nine penthouses, but in the end I liked Ryan so much that I only wanted to buy from him. It became very personal.”

Familiar with the stock in the area, Ryan teamed up with two Kollosche agents to show the buyer through 62 Admiralty Drive, a large waterfront home with views looking straight down Main River in the prestigiou­s enclave of Paradise Waters. “When we walked in the door and looked at the view that was pretty much a clincher,” says the client. “Originally, we weren’t going to spend as much money as we did on this home, but because it was so nice and because we liked Ryan so much, well that was part of the reason why we bought it.”

Beyond the Transactio­n

The close relationsh­ips Ryan forges with his clients means he receives a lot of repeat business, with sellers going on to become buyers and buyers shift to become sellers.

And while achieving the best possible sales result for his vendors is paramount, the pay-off of a successful sale for Ryan goes far beyond that.

“It’s about diving below the surface to find out what really matters to a client,” Ryan says.

“The most rewarding part of the process for me is being able to welcome buyers and their families into their new home,” he says.
