Prestigious build on quiet inlet

Designed with high-end features and entertainers in mind, this large family home offers an easy lifestyle in a prime location,

- Writes Carin Pickworth

Craig and Col Waberski meticulously planned their dream home with the needs of children Keagan and Tamryn in mind, only to have them fly the coop before they moved in. Royally-named (and treated) cavalier King Charles spaniels Archie and Charlie have somewhat filled the void of the empty nest, but not quite enough to justify remaining in this family-sized five-bedroom, three-bathroom abode.

“When we closed on the land both of the kids were still living at home, so we were planning all of these breakout areas for them to be with friends,” Mr Waberski said.

“But before we could move into the home Keagan got married and Tamryn moved to Manly in Sydney, so we found ourselves in this huge family home with two spoiled dogs.”

The near-new build was completed during the Covid-era of construction, with quality imported fittings and fixtures you’d now be waiting years to get your hands on.

Fortuitously, Mr Waberski paid for and secured all of the high-end materials just before the world shut down.

“While the build took 18 months instead of eight, luckily I had already secured things like the cello Italian marble and porcelain tiles the feature throughout,” he said.

“If we hadn’t prepaid for those materials, we may not have gotten them with the global environment the way it was.”

The stylish home, fashioned in a contemporary and industrial fusion is situated on an immaculate parcel of land with frontage to a quiet northern Gold Coast inlet.

The Waberski’s love the Sanctuary Cove lifestyle so much they are planning to downsize in the same neighbourhood.

“We don’t need a house this big anymore, but the lifestyle of Sanctuary Cove is unmatched,” Mr Waberski said.

“We jump on the golf buggy and head down to a restaurant or out for a coffee at a moment’s notice and our dogs run along beside the buggy for walks.

“People don’t realise how much lifestyle offering Sanctuary Cove has, it is quiet and serene and beautiful here and we are staying in the community.”

Designed with peace and privacy in mind, the home features a ground floor guest quarters and a privately winged master suite – set aside from the rest with a his and hers walk-in-robe, Hollywood-style vanity and sumptuous ensuite.

Entertainers will delight in the fluid indoor/outdoor spaces, with the sleek kitchen and dining opening onto a sheltered outdoor alfresco with built in BeefEater BBQ overlooking the waterfall pool and easy-care AstroTurf lawn.

Features include a soaring 7.6 metre void with open tread staircase and cement feature wall and a statement Cyprus timber Arbor leading into the home for a grand “welcome home” feel.

This prestigious waterfront abode is now up for sale by expressions of interest through Kollosche Broadbeach.
