A sanctuary of calm

-

LA imports Liza and David McConnell signed on the dotted line the moment they took in the vista of 159 Campbell St, Sorrento.

The home’s glittering skyline echoed the vibrant glamour of LA, fusing coastal allure with cosmopolitan energy – a vibe the couple could not pass up.

“We lived in LA for seven years and the outlook just reminded us of being in downtown LA, but without the bustle – it’s just got the same magic,” Ms McConnell said.

“You don’t realise the view these properties have until you’ve been in one.

“The photos don’t do it justice; the skyline outlook at night is so much more beautiful than a picture can capture.”

And despite being centrally located, this pocket of Sorrento is known as a sanctuary of calm, something the McConnell’s said the property had in spades.

“There is amazing wildlife and quietness here,” Mr McConnell said.

“We sit on our deck and watch the fish jump up out of the water and we have swans, pelicans and dragon lizards come to visit us.

“Our seven-year-old son has just loved it and despite how central this property is to everything there is such a calmness in this area,” he said.

Set on a 723sq m block, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home is an elegant and private waterfront address with a Stuart Osmandesigned, resort-style interior.

Think sleek stone finishes, soaring raked ceilings, luxe bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, and alfresco areas primed for entertaining friends and family.

The McConnell’s concede it would be hard to replace the sumptuous master suite.

“The master is like a luxury hotel room with a barn door separating the lounge from the bedroom, a fireplace, ensuite and upper deck with extensive views,” Mr McConnell said.

“We also love having two full-sized living rooms and the way our pool is positioned for total privacy with the reflection of the water on the ceiling in the kitchen and living space is such a beautiful addition.”
