Buyer emerges from pack to pay $11m for Palm Beach house

-

ABrisbane buyer has dropped $11m on a beachfront house at Palm Beach, following another week of mega sales on the Gold Coast. The property at 129 Jefferson Lane, Palm Beach sold at auction over the weekend through Amir Prestige Group’s Amir Mian, and Vince and Linda Lock.

Five bidders registered, from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, New Zealand and the Gold Coast, Mr Mian said.

“We had multiple people fighting over this one,” Mr Mian said.

“It was quite phenomenal standing on the beachfront and having four agents on the phone to four potential buyers around the country and overseas.

“It just shows how much interest the properties here are getting both nationally and internationally.”

Property records reveal the seller was transport industry boss Andrew Kibble and his wife Annabelle, who bought the property for $5.96m in November, 2020.

The family initially put the house on the market with another agent in August, 2023.

Mr Mian, who took over the marketing last month, said the buyers planned to live in the property.

“It was all about lifestyle for the buyers,” Mr Mian said.

The highest sale in Palm Beach is $12m in 2021, for two houses on a 826sq m site at 506 The Esplanade.

In neighbouring Currumbin, 746 Pacific Pde sold for $8.1m through Coastal’s James Massey.

The modern three-storey home on a 417sq m beachfront block offers views from Snapper Rocks to Surfers Paradise.

To Sorrento and a near-new luxury home at 2 Saywell St sold for $7.6m via Kollosche Broadbeach agent Eddie Wardale.

Framed by skyline views in a prime waterfront position, the hotel-like residence spans two palatial levels, featuring a private lift, five bedrooms, five bathrooms and opulent features throughout.

Back to the beachfront and a 244sq m apartment 3/19 Broadbeach Blvd, Broadbeach sold under the hammer for $6.5m.

Marketing agent Tolemy Stevens of Coastal said the sale equated to $26,639 per square metre.

It was the first time any of the full floor apartments in the residential-only building had been for sale.
