FORMER surf lifesaving identity Jacki Hendy is set to show off the Gold Coast region’s natural assets to the world after inking a deal with Foxtel.

The pay TV provider has picked up the rights to screen Ms Hendy’s new TV lifestyle talk show Jacki Hendy’s New Beginnings TV on the Foxtel’s Aurora Community Channel.

The series, which premieres on Sunday at 8pm, will also be webcast via Ms Hendy’s New Beginnings website and social media channels.

“I pitched the pilot to Aurora and they loved the concept of the show, which is a lifestyle talk show profiling local identities and change-makers who have inspirational and transformational stories with a body, mind and spirit ethos,” she said.

Guests on Sunday’s premiere include Antarctic adventurer Geoff Wilson, a “Golden Girls’’ panel featuring Ms Hendy, agribusiness and manufacturing entrepreneur Melinda Richards, certified organic health and beauty queen Therese Kerr (mother of model Miranda) and Coast Yogini Madonna Williams.

Ms Hendy’s children, TJ and Kristelle, who interviewed her famous father Trevor Hendy for Sunday’s premiere, will also feature throughout the series.

The New Beginnings TV series is being produced as part of a Work Integrated Learning project with Griffith School of Humanities journalism students.

The TV series is based on the successful New Beginnings corporate networking events Ms Hendy started two years ago after losing her partner to cancer.

Ms Hendy said the events and TV series were testament to a shift in corporate mindset on the Coast towards a more holistic ‘mind, body and spirit’ ethos.
