DRONES as lifesavers? Nice idea so long as the wind is below 20 knots. James D

Can someone tell me why the Gold Coast CEO pay is more than the Prime Minister? In fact paid more than the President of the US, the leader of the free world. He’s only a public servant, and no one says a word? Why? He’s not doing his job, give it to me at 1/3 the cost. bilby

Gold Coast Waterways Authority are missing a wonderful fundraising opportunity with so many illegal boats moored on the west side of Wavebreak. They should install parking meters because obviously they are not going to move them on.

I guess all of those touchy, feely, huggy socialist governments in Europe are starting to get a bit nervous about now. Australians know what it’s like, we almost went down that path but good sense prevailed. GT

Hey Premier ur right, it is national rugby league but u won’t get the grand final, it’s always been in nsw and always will b, by the way it won’t b both qld sides, the roosters will b there on grand final day, ok get ur facts right.

A sure quick way for the Suns to increase the membership at the club is to get rid of Eade & Ashcroft. OB. In response to t b f robina, I waited five hours for test results in eye dept at gcuh. really peeved

More drug busts, one would think use would be down thou only the opposite keeps occurring who is really winning here. Roy the 80$$%

TBF, if 75 min is too long for you to wait, ask for a beeper, go to cafe, grab a coffee and chill out! While you are doing that think about the staff that are working their butts off to provide a free service for you! M (a happy client)

Why are boats allowed so close to the migrating whales. Boaties and fishermen are a menace to our oceans and waterways. Leave the whales alone. Angry local

I haven’t had a credit card for 20yrs and im surviving, you can too, it’s easy. Credit cards make the rich ... rich and you poor. Cut it up ... Free.

Totally agree with LS regarding cigarettes and alcohol although they forgot about the growing hatred towards government and politicians wasting taxpayers’ money.

Yes, no name, I am watching Europe’s refugee crisis unfold. But unlike you I believe we should take some responsibility on it. After all we bombed Iraq, Libya and have been involved in trying to bring down Syria’s government. These countries are now uninhabitable. We are responsible!

LOOK around u, feel tha news. Europe’s tinder dry powder keg slowly stews. Treat every single day with maximum respect, an exodus of souls leaving without regret, I’m not sure praying will help from above ... but search out your loved ones an giv them a hug. DaGranddmaster.

A very sensible editorial in the on Sept 3. But connecting Helensvale by light rail only puts visitors into the Surfers Paradise traffic congestion. Surely a link to Nerang via Metricon would be of greater benefit.

The Qld economy shrunk by almost 1% in the last quarter, thanks to silly Annastacia stopping, or hindering so many major projects. Serial recession = serial unemployment ! C U in the Centrelink Q!

Tbf, here’s a hint: go to your GP (most bulk bill), get referral, go to qml, Sullivan Nicholaides. In & out in 5 mins.

Uncle Tom told us afta trams finisd he’ll c traffic lights on SHAME to see the demise of Assist A Sista. One would have hoped the cause, the brand, the community and the supporters would have been more important. One strong entity now becomes two, both competing for and further fragmenting donations and corporate support. WN GC hyw will b synchronise, and I c they r on red! Up 2 Surfers, 24ks and only 51 traffic lights mostly on red, I can only get 1.7 green lights in a row on any journey, be it day , evening or middle of the night with less than doz cars on the rd the entire trip. Boggles the mind? Driver :(

Another $200 million to fix the council IT system. Wasn’t the $100 million for SAP meant to do just that. Irate ratepayer

ALP could have kick-started the Qld economy with a cruise ship terminal and without using Govt money. $7billion investment and jobs now lost. Now they have no idea what to do. Redneck

Here’s an idea about people using a phone while driving. If they get caught, issue the fine but if they install a hands-free kit before the fine is due then waive the fine. Maybe that same philosophy could be used for other things like bald tyres. It’s about safety, not revenue raising. Markg

ABC 7-Eleven investigation – after finished this one, the ACCC can start investigation into delivery businesses, cleaning, hospitality, security etc. the whole country is full of this!

If the desal plant is operational again, why not use it all the time and tell the state govt to stick their expensive water charges and give us a break.

J, I agree surf side buses pricing is extortion. Caught bus from Coolangatta to pac fair on Wednesday, $8.60 one way. never again. I wait til hubby has day off and drive. Ron

Bring on the oceanway and you will get the vote scalper.

Ban boxing! While you’re at it you can ban NRL, union and soccer. You get hit in the head playing these sports too, right? Or how about banning cricket too since people die doing that. The sarcastic one
