A very sensible editorial in the on Sept 3. But connecting Helensvale by light rail only puts visitors into the Surfers Paradise traffic congestion. Surely a link to Nerang via Metricon would be of greater benefit.

Here’s an idea about people using a phone while driving. If they get caught, issue the fine but if they install a hands-free kit before the fine is due then waive the fine. Maybe that same philosophy could be used for other things like bald tyres. It’s about safety, not revenue raising. Markg
