MEXICO

H+I ADVENTURES, an awardwinning mountain biking tour company, has added two new festival departures to Mexico.

After five days riding the unspoilt trails of the Sierra Norte mountains, mountain bikers will return to Oaxaca where they will discover the local traditions and history of Mexico’s most iconic celebrations.

The October 26 departure coincides with Mexico’s largest fiesta of the year, Dia de Muertos, where travellers will marvel at colourful sugar skulls, ornate costumes and painted faces, and watch processions flood the streets.

Adventurers on the April 8 departure will return to Oaxaca in time for Semana Santa, a week-long holiday during which Mexicans bring religious symbols and statues from the church out on to the streets. Rates from about $3225 per person.
