Club shoots for new look

SHOOTERS is back, but not as you know it.

The renowned raging party club has transformed into a social “one-stop shop” with a bottle shop, TVs to screen sport, a tapas bar, daytime service and Xbox consoles.

New general manager Wayne Towie said due to lockout laws and the changing face of the nightlife scene, patrons were more interested in going out earlier and being able to socialise rather than dance.

“I only came on board in August but I wanted Shooters to focus more on customer service and the social setting,” Mr Towie said.

“That’s where the Coast is going.

“We’ve always been the superclub and always will be but we’ve had to make some additions to cater to what people want.

Whether you want a couple of quiet beers after work, or tapas at night with your girlfriends, or a dance, we’ve made sure we have it all.

“We’re not too concerned about lockout laws because we think if we have that social setting people will come earlier.”

Shooters, which abruptly shut its doors in June, will open the three-venue “superclub” to the public tonight.

The new owners are described in a statement as “Eu- ropean-based” but not named.

The Bulletin has been told by a venue spokesman that former co-owner John Hussey is not involved.

Shooters returned to the nightlife scene in 2014 after two years to repair extensive Schoolies Week fire damage.
