WHALES breaching as they cruise along one of the world’s most beautiful stretches of beach to the east and V8s barging through a chicane at breakneck speed to the west ...

Forget pit lane – the Gold Coast 600’s premium beach chicane suites and villas are the hottest tickets in Australian motorsport.

Corporate tickets for last year’s Gold Coast 600 sold out – and are on track to do the same this year.

Gold Coast 600 event manager Melissa Stephens said premium facilities on the beachfront at Narrow Neck had been boosted this year to meet demand but many were already sold out.

“Additional private suites for 20 guests have been added and have all sold out.” The suites start at $25,000. Racegoers are also snapping up tickets for swish shared facilities overlooking the beach chicane at Narrow Neck, including the new Moët Ice Beach Bar. Those lucky enough to have jagged a $700 ticket to Moët’s cocktail-style lounge will enjoy free-flowing French champagne, premium wines and beers and “a culinary experience” with a fullday grazing menu. Sunday tickets have already sold out, with limited $600 tickets still available for the Saturday.

“Pay-as-you-go bar” the Beach Club has also been expanded to include a new wide balcony with a bird’s-eye view of the beach chicane.

Tickets start at $360 and include lunch and afternoon tea.

The Main Beach Pde chicane has delivered V8 fans some of the greatest clashes and crashes in the event’s history. Gold Coast City Council has spent eight months installing 900m of seawall and a concrete oceanway path at Narrow Neck as part of a $6.7 million project to protect the foreshore from erosion – work that has enabled race organisers to boost seating along Main Beach Pde.

Friday and Saturday corporate tickets include VIP corporate access to the 600 Sounds concerts at Broadwater Parklands featuring LDRU and Peking Duk (Friday) and The Living End, The Rubens and Birds of Tokyo (Saturday).

THE GOLD COAST 600 RUNS FROM OCTOBER 21-23.
