Octavia range has appeal for families

SKODA drivers like to do their homework, and the brand knows they’ll want more value than ever before – and that’s what the Octavia range delivers, according to Gold Coast Skoda sales manager Rob Webster.

Mr Webster said sharing the latest in Volkswagen Group technology, the entire Octavia range came standard with SmartLink Smartphone Connectivity.

“Your car and smartphone can be synched using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces,” he said.

“You can select and listen to music on your smartphone or receive turn-by-turn directions. And for ease of use, selected APPS can be controlled via the front infotainment unit.

“Adaptive cruise control allows for a more comfortable drive and an impressive range of standard safety features including front assist with city emergency brake, and rear view camera and rear parking sensors give the Octavia a well-earned five-star ANCAP safety rating.”

The new Octavia is up to 20 per cent more fuel efficient than previous models and multi-collision braking is standard on all Octavia versions, he said.

“If your vehicle is involved in a collision, your activated airbags will trigger automatic braking and illumination of your haz- ard lights, helping to prevent a secondary collision.”

The Volkswagen Group’s new turbocharged 1.4L 110TSI engine delivers an impressive 250Nm of torque and a combined fuel economy of 5.3L/100km, he said.

“Standard across both engine variants is Green Tech - a technology allowing for further improvement in fuel economy through the features - Start Stop and Brake Energy Recuperation.
