IT sounds too good to be true – buy a Gold Coast house and get a free apartment on South Stradbroke Island.
But that’s the new marketing push Panayota Thomas is taking to sell her seven-bedroom Hope Island property.
It has been on the market eight months and Ms Thomas, a hairdresser, said she hoped that throwing in the apartment would provide a buyer with the “ultimate Gold Coast lifestyle package”.
“I was already trying to sell the house and thought I’d like to sell the apartment too,” the 64-year-old said.
“So instead of reducing the price I’ve thrown in the apartment.”
Ms Thomas, who owns Sovereign Islands Hair Studio, bought her Hope Island house in 2014 and her Couran Cove apartment in 2003.
A media room, jetty, office and separate wings are among the features of the Beaufort Way house while the one-bedroom apartment on Cook St, South Stradbroke Island, has never been lived in.
“The apartment has been a great holiday home over the years,” she said.
“But now it’s just an excess property.”
She recently bought another property on Sovereign Islands to be closer to her hairdressing clientele.
“I’m at a stage in my life now where I want to take time to travel more overseas,” she said.
Ray White Sovereign Islands agent Edin Kara has taken over the marketing and said that the offer was genuine.
“Panayota mentioned the apartment and we decided to offer it free with the house as it has never been on the market,” he said.
“We’re taking the house to auction and the buyer will get a completely free apartment with it.
“The reserve will remain as the price for just the house. “It is a genuine offer.” The property is going to auction in March.
