Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin

Question over ring

-

IT seems a couple of politicians forgot how slow “snail mail” can be and left sending their Christmas cards too late. Both Surfers Paradise MP John-Paul Langbroek and Senator Murray Watt (right) sent lovely Christmas cards to Gold Coast Bulletin staff. Only problem is, they arrived well after the big day. Senator Watt’s arrived a couple of days after December 25 but Mr Langbroek’s card — complete with fridge calendar — didn’t show up until January 2. Thanks for the kind wishes fellas, we did have a merry Christmas. And as we all know it’s the thought that counts. MORE than a year after James Packer and Mariah Carey ended their relationship, the Australian billionaire reportedly wants the pop star to return her $12.7 million engagement ring.

According to Life and Style Magazine, Mr Packer wants the 35-carat diamond ring that Carey is holding on to.

“He’s told pals he wants his ring back,” the magazine quoted an insider as saying. “And he’s going to have his team reach out to her to ask for it.”

But the Daily Mail reported a source close to Packer said the report was off the money.

Carey has been seen wearing the ring, including while out with partner Bryan Tanaka.

Last month Packer was photographed with a new girlfriend, believed to be model Kylie Lim.

The businessman, who turned 50 in October, told The Weekend Australian he was not in a good place when he started dating Carey.

“I was at a low point in my personal life,” Packer (above) said.

“Mariah is a woman of substance. She is very bright. But it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me.”
