‘It’s been absolutely insane’

- LAUREN WOOD

THE dancer who accidentally flashed her bare bum during the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony says she sees the humourous side of the entire world seeing her rear end.

Georgia Lear, 19, gave opening ceremony more viewers than they bargained for when what felt like a “bit of a wedgie” saw her dress ride up and her flash the cameras as she went to run under a beach towel during Ricki-Lee Coulter’s performance.

“Who would have thought that this would happen to me?,” Ms Lear said.

“I’m just a regular girl. It’s just been absolutely insane. An emotional roller coaster.

“I was devastated at the start – it was quite humiliating. But you’ve definitely just got to see the funny side of it. It’s something I can tell the grandkids.”

Lear – who is pursuing a dance career – said her family knew immediately that their daughter was the girl in the purple dress, performing in front of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall.

“My mum and dad were definitely like ‘oops, she’s just flashed the prince!’,” she said.

“There’s no point having a cry about it. You’ve got to have a laugh.”

Lear has had an offer of free underwear from company Fresh Sets and said she could do worse than end up with a free pair of undies for enduring embarrassment on a global stage.

“I wouldn’t complain – a girl can’t have enough undies, can she?,” she laughed.
