Meet the Gold Coast sisters who are ... Keeping up with the Kardashians
WITH nearly one million Instagram followers, dozens of free overseas holidays and a wardrobe that would rival any Kardashian, it would be easy to classify Emilee Hembrow as a standard Gold Coast “influencer”.
But unlike other gorgeous 20-somethings, who have built up their following over a number of years, the 26-yearold, estimated to be worth close to $700,000, didn’t even have Instagram two years ago.
“I have a degree in marketing and fashion design. I really focused on that for a long time,” she said.
“I started a clothing label at 18 and went to China on my own to do it all, I haven’t been doing this (Instagram and YouTube) for that long.
“My sister Tammy was really into it. About two years ago she was like ‘you need to get Instagram’ and I knew I enjoyed taking photos so I gave it a go.”
Hembrow’s following exploded almost overnight, thanks in part to Tammy, who boasts more than eight million followers and a roll call of famous friends.
