Tee off in a private paradise

-

AS far as jawdropping renovations go, this is a hole-in-one.

A 14-hole minigolf course is just one of the standout features Sharon and Dennis Clark have added to their Helensvale mansion since buying it almost eight years ago.

Surrounded by palm trees and overlooking the river, the couple say “the putting green”, complete with checkered flags and bunkers, is a hit with guests. It is also one of the home’s biggest selling points now that it’s on the market.

Since buying the sprawling property at 19 River Cove Place, the interior decorators by trade have transformed it into their dream home, which could easily be mistaken for a holiday resort.

Mrs Clark said the backyard was perfect for entertaining with the minigolf course and tropical pool surrounded by Bali huts. One of the Bali huts has a swim-up bar while another has a shower, bathroom and change room.

“The whole backyard now is just like a resort,” she said.

Mrs Clark said while it would be hard to replace, it was time to downsize since their children had moved out.

“It’s one-of-a-kind, I’m going to miss it very, very much,” she said.
